SHAWN MENDES


Shawn Mendes was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was raised in Pickering. He is the son of Karen and Manuel Mendes. His father is of Portuguese descent, while his mother is English. He first started posting cover videos on the popular social video app Vine in 2013 and picked up millions of views and followers in a matter of months, becoming well known for his six-second snippets of renditions of many popular songs.


Artist manager Andrew Gertler discovered Shawn online in January 2014, bringing him to Island Records where he eventually signed and released his first single "Life of the Party" in June 2014. He is the youngest artist to debut in the top 25 with a debut song on the Billboard Hot 100.


Prior to his signing, Shawn Mendes toured as a of the MagCon Tour alongside other young artists and social media sensations such as Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Jack & Jack, and more. Mendes was also on a nationwide tour with Austin Mahone as an opening act, then he made a song with “The Vamps” and finally he won the Teen Choice award in 2014 for Webstar in Music.

    Hi Marina! Idon`t really like your text cause i´m not so interested in singers, but nevertheless i think the text was perfect, not only because it was easy to understand, it was perfect because it wasn´t too long, and that´s a thing i like so much because sometimes, when i´m reading the text and it´s too long i really get bored.

    Helo Marina, honestly the lives of people who make videos do not like so much 'cause other text only talk about their secrets of their lives, who is in love with whom, where they will go on vacation and stuff, summarizing his life; and that type of text are so boring. And as the text does not talk about that does not seem boring.

    Hi!i agree with Carmona because i dont like singers but also im sure that shawn mendes is a great compositor and singer.Also the text was very easy to read but i think that a photo of him would have been better.
