Last summer
I was in tortuguero (Costa Rica) and there, I could see an amazing phenomenon:
turtle’s spawning.
Turtles
nest and lay their eggs on the shores of the natural park between July and
October, a period in which the natural park is frequented by thousands of
tourists.
However, being a fragile ecosystem, only a
certain number of tourists are allowed in each tour spawning, to thereby avoid
disturbing nesting turtles.
The tours
are conducted in the evenings. I will tell you how were the rules of the tour
to see turtles spawning:
First we
had to put off the mobiles phone.
Second we
had to go with red light lanterns (it was dark).
Third we
had to stay quiet.
When all
these rules are ok the tour guide notifies you when you can see the turtle.
The turtle leaves the sea, excavates a nest
and lay about one hundred eggs.
She goes
into a trance and in this moment you can see the process without disturbing
her.
After three
months the little turtles break the eggs and have to run to avoid to be eaten
by a lot of predators before reaching the ocean.
Only a few numbers
of turtles survive and one on three hundred lives and reaches the adult stage.

Hi Sergio, i like the text so much because talks about a beautiful animals who live on a very beautiful ecosystem like Costa Rica, one bad thing is that the text its so difficult to rea and I can´t read it al the text very well, anyway good job Sergio.

Hi Sergio!I've found your text amazing because i've learn a lot of things with it like that one turtle can lay a hundred of eggs and that only one turtle of three hundred can reach the adult stage. Other thing that i like of your text is that you've put photos on it and i think that is a good detail.

Hi Sergio! I think that this text is amazing because of all the info that you told us about the turtles and how can visit them in some special beaches. I think, like Marcos, that it is original because you put photos. I think that few people put photos.

Hello Sergio! I think this text is very interesting because I have a tortoise and now I learn more things about tortoise. Is very amazing that a tortoise can have a hundred of eggs. ReplyDeleteI think this text is very interesting because i love turtles and almost it´s my fauvorite animal before sharks.In this text i see that turtles can be so slow but, this animal could live in the land and in the water too.However when the turtles put the eggs in the ground most of them died because of the animals who eat´s them.Finally i really like to go on a trìp to Costa Rica.
